Give Furniture

Your gently used furniture can provide comfort and stability to families facing challenging times.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul accepts essential furniture items such as sofas, tables, chairs, beds, dressers, and more. Donations are distributed to those in need or sold in our thrift stores, with proceeds funding critical programs like housing assistance and emergency support. Give your furniture a second life and make a lasting difference in your community!
Schedule your furniture donation pickup to keep your gently used furniture out of the landfill and provide it to families in need!

Pickup Options: To schedule pickup of larger donations, please contact our Donation Department at 412-321-1071x2 or furniture@svdppitt.org. Our donation pickup slots fill up quickly – we cannot guarantee your preferred pickup date but will do our best to accommodate as our schedule allows. There is a modest $70 fee for pickups.

Drop-off Option: You can always drop off your gently used clothing, housewares, and furniture items to any one of our thrift stores during their open hours only.

Please note:  To treat our clients with dignity and respect, items should be free of any rips, stains, tears, pet hair, broken parts, or missing pieces (would you give it to your neighbor?). We cannot accept mattresses, china cabinets, buffet tables, sleeper sofas, medical and exercise equipment, pianos, appliances, entertainment centers, building materials, patio/outdoor furniture, glass-top tables or upholstered items that have been exposed to pets.  We inspect all items upon pickup or drop-off and reserve the right to refuse anything unsuitable for our clients.

We DO accept area rugs and bed linens (washed, gently used sheets, blankets and comforters in sizes twin, twin XL, full and queen).
